The shipping company Snav, a company Navigazione Alta Velocità, was born in 1956 with the name of Società` Aliscafi s.p.a from a private shipping group. The first line activated carries out the service on the Strait of Messina, with  the hydrofoil “La Freccia del Sole”, later followed by the “Freccia delle Aeolie” and the “Freccia del Tirreno”.

In 1958, the name of the company was changed. ferries changes with Snav, a company of Navigazione Veloce, from now on the company has been trying to expand the fleet and navigation waters, first on the Adriatic with the Trieste-Venice line, and then arriving in the Tyrrhenian Sea on Sardinia, Elba and the Gulf of Naples.

In 1995, with the arrival of Gianluigi Aponte , the company changed its name again, becoming Snav s.p.a. From this moment on, the fleet and routes underwent a significant renewal. A novelty arrives in the 2000s with the activation of fast connections with Croatia.

To date, the fleet of the shipping company Snav  composed of 21 units; between hydrofoils, catamarans and ferries, fast and comfortable, which ensure daily connections with the major Mediterranean islands such as Ischia, Procida, Capri and the Pontine Islands.

Furthermore, the lines to the Aeolian Islands and Croatia are guaranteed with seasonal trips, offering maximum comfort during the crossings.
